Will the World’s Next Supercar Come from Brazil?

Forget the Italian’s passion for speed, German engineering or American muscle, it looks like the world’s next great supercar will come from an unlikely place–Brazil.

This is a teaser rendering of the Amoritz GT DR7, which has been designed by Brazilian native Fernando Morita. The GT DR7 will be the first car produced by Amoritz, so we don’t have anything to go on when it comes to the quality of car they will be able to produce or even the likelyhood that it will even see the light of day, but we like the sound of this one. Motivation is planned to come from Dodge–specifically the same V-10 that’s currently in the Viper. This time around, however, Amoritz plans to boost power through twin turbochargers. And since it will be made it Brazil, it will run on some form of biofuel, ethanol probably. The current power target is in excess of 600 horsepower.

That’s all we have for now, but Amoritz says it hopes to unveil the car in the latter half of 2010. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for more exotic goodness (with a touch of American V-10 power).
