Pikes Peak the Fast Way
This YouTube video is of rally driver Marcus Gronholm’s 11:28 run up Pikes Peak in an 800 horsepower, turbocharged Ford Fiesta. Gronholm actually finished second to Nobuhiro “Monster” Tajima in the unlimited class (Tajima reached the top in his Suzuki in 10:15) thanks to a turbo that reportedly gave up the ghost near the top, but it’s still a great video of one of the greatest motorsports events anywhere.
