Meet Ferrari’s Fastest Ever Road Legal Car
Even after showing you the Viper ACR-X, we couldn’t resist another low-production supercar. This time, however, you can drive it to pick up a gallon of milk and drop off Fido at the groomer’s.
This is the Ferrari 599 GTO, and the makers of the prancing horse say that this car is essentially a road legal 599XX. And the 599 designation for this car isn’t just a random number. Only–you guessed it–599 examples of this model will be built, and the engine displacement is 5,999 cc’s.
Speaking of the engine, the V-12 uses cylinder banked at 65 degrees and is rated at 670 horsepower at a screaming 8,250 rpm. Torque peaks at 457 lb/ft at a relatively high 6,500 rpm. Combine that with a 3,538 pound curb weight and you’ve got the recipe for speed: zero-to-sixty in 3.35 seconds and a top speed of 208 mph, in fact.
